Dear colleagues and friends,

It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the APELSO 2023. APELSO 2023 is scheduled to be held from the 2nd to the 4th of November in Seoul, Korea.

This upcoming conference is not only exceptional in terms of the range and quality, but also in terms of the circumstances in which it is taking place. First, we need to acknowledge that this APELSO 2023 will be in conjunction with the 55th Annual Meeting of the Korean Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Secondly, as we are seeing the prospect of getting out of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am looking forward to holding the APELSO 2023 as an offline meeting.

On behalf of the organizing committee of APELSO 2023, I promise that our best efforts will be made to make the meeting a highly scientific and educational one. We are also organizing symposia and sessions joined by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO), the Korean Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, the Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory disease, the Korean Society of Cardiology. More than all, while the gate is open to participants from around the World, we will try to provide more Asia-Pacific physicians, surgeons, nurses, and technicians with a larger platform for sharing their experiences and innovative ideas on extracorporeal life support.

I would like to thank ELSO committee members, APELSO organizing committees, and all distinguished colleagues, for their enormous work behind the scenes to ensure the delivery and success of this very important conference. Lastly, this conference will bring people together at what is a very difficult time for us all, and I encourage your very active and enthusiastic participation: we have so much to learn from each other and continue to engage in global collaboration to help support one another.
